The Statistical Office in Białystok is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its website in accordance with the Act of April 4, 2019, on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities. This website is partially compliant with the Act of April 4, 2019, on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities due to the non-compliance issues listed below:

  • some PDF files are not available in digital format (they lack a clearly defined logical structure or are scans of documents),
  • some of the published infographics do not have an alternative description or an alternative version of the data,
  • some of the published photos do not have alternative text, but they are not used for current tasks,
  • there are links whose titles are the same as the link's content,
  • in some places text is underlined but is not a link,
  • some articles contain justified text.

Everyone has the right to request that a website, mobile app or any element thereof be made digitally accessible. You may also request that information be made available through an alternative means of access, such as by having a document that is not digitally accessible read aloud, describing the content of a video without audio description, etc. The request should include the requester’s contact information, specify which website or mobile app is involved and provide contact details. If the person making the request indicates a need to receive information through an alternative access method, they should also specify the format in which they would like the information to be provided. The Statistical Office in Białystok should fulfill the request immediately, no later than 7 days from the date the request was made. If meeting this deadline is not possible, the public entity shall immediately inform the requester when the request can be fulfilled, provided that this deadline does not exceed 2 months from the date the request was submitted. If ensuring digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative method of accessing the information.

If a public entity refuses to comply with a request to ensure accessibility or provide an alternative means of accessing information, the person making the request may file a complaint regarding the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or website element.

Once the procedure described above has been completed, it is possible to submit a request to Commissioner for Human Rights.

Architectural Accessibility

Building: Statistical Office in Białystok, 13 Krakowska St., 15-875 Białystok

A typical administrative and office building, four stories high, with a basement, and a regular rectangular shape. The building has one main entrance at 13 Krakowska Street. The access path to the building is paved and includes one designated parking space for people with disabilities.

A staircase leads from the outside to the main lobby; to the right of the stairs is a platform for transporting people with mobility impairments (including those in wheelchairs). The entrance doors are automatic and threshold-free (1.2 m). The reception desk is located to the right of the main entrance to the building.

Inside, the office building is largely accessible to people with disabilities. On the ground floor, on the left side of the hallway, there is a customer service room accessible through a threshold-free door that allows wheelchair access; on the right side of the hallway, there is a training room with a threshold-free door for people with disabilities.

The accessible restroom is located on the mezzanine level leading to the basement, to the right of the building’s entrance. Access for people with disabilities is provided by a platform lift designed to transport people with disabilities (including those in wheelchairs).

No elevator. The building has no Braille signage, nor any high-contrast or large-print signage for blind and visually impaired people.

People with disabilities have the right to enter the building with an assistance dog, in accordance with the provisions of applicable law.

When visiting the Office, you may request the assistance of a sign language interpreter. You must notify the Office of your intention to use an interpreter no later than 3 business days before your scheduled visit. Building: Statistical Office in Białystok, Branch Office in Suwałki, 1 Maja St. 13, 16-400 Suwałki

The Suwałki branch of the Statistical Office in Białystok is located on the first floor of a building managed by PZU Na Życie Spółka Akcyjna, headquartered in Warsaw. It is a three-story building situated on a fenced-off lot.

The walkway to the building is paved. There is also a ramp for people with disabilities. The ramp leads to the building’s entrance, located beneath the stairs. There is no designated parking space for people with disabilities.

There is no elevator in the building, and the bathroom is not accessible to people with disabilities.

People with disabilities have the right to enter the building with an assistance dog, in accordance with the provisions of applicable law.

It is not possible to use the services of a sign language interpreter.
